Welcome to the Rainbow Wood, a podcast featuring the adventures of Sprinkles, Sparkles, Quirk, and Everly. The Rainbow Wood is a children’s serialized fantasy podcast told in 10 – 20 minute episodes. Parents and their children are invited to get lost in a world of unicorns, squirms, and fairies. What’s a squirm, you ask? Listen and find out! The world might be best experienced by starting at Episode 1.
The Rainbow Wood brings to life four friends-–Sprinkles, Sparkles, Quirk, and Everly—and their adventures throughout The Rainbow Wood helping new friends by problem-solving, cooperation, and kindness.
The story is written and performed by Tara Lee Burns, worldbuilder, interdisciplinary artist, dancer, and educator. Tara has two daughters (7 & 9) who have helped to shape the world and create the stories for the past 8 years.
SPRINKLES (she/hers) is a unicorn often described as having a lavender coat, rainbow mane, and black sparkly hooves. She is the oldest of the four friends and lives with her mother in Rainbow Meadow. Her best friend is Sparkles but that doesn’t mean she isn’t best friends with Quirk and Everly too! She is very caring and empathetic.
SPARKLES (she/hers) is a unicorn often described as having a grey coat, a sparkly rainbow mane, and black sparkly hooves and muzzle. She is a couple years younger than Sprinkles and lives in the Rainbow Wood in a fallen star with her family. Her best friend is Sparkles. She is positive and adventurous.
QUIRK (they/them) is a squirm, so they are often described as half-squirrel and half-human, even though there are no humans in the Rainbow Wood. Quirk is best friends with Sprinkles, Sparkles, and Everly. They are spontaneous and heart-driven.
EVERLY (she/hers) is a light fairy, often described as having two poufy buns on her head and gleaming wings of light. She is often found clinging to Sprinkles mane. Evelry lives with Fairy Grandmother in Shimmer Forest. She often suggests getting help from Fairy Grandmother and is sensitive and confident.
